July has been a busy month for me, which means that the blog posts have been backing up a little bit recently, nevertheless in true end-of-the-month fashion, here’s a list of what I’ve been loving during July…
L’Oreal Paris True Match Powder – I have been using Rimmel’s Stay Matte pressed powder to “set” my foundation for a while now, so I decided that it was time to try something new this month and I’ve been beyond impressed with the results of L’Oreal’s True Match powder. It blends really easily and gives a nice, smooth coverage to combat any oil and shine. It’s also very gentle and soft on the skin. I’m so pleased to have discovered it, as it has now been added to my daily make-up routine.
Maybelline New York Hyrda/Moisture Extreme Lipstick (122A Naked Ballerina) – You know how I love a lippie! This is a great all-rounder for the summer months, it is part of the “Naturals” collection, and it’s a very soft but pretty pinky nude tone. It’s also ultra creamy and softening, so your lips feel hydrated and moisturised all day.
So Susan Concealer Quad – This product was unearthed when I was having a bit of a cosmetics clear-out, don’t you just love that? This isn’t a star product for me but it is one that I’ve been reaching for more frequently this month because it’s quite light-weight, which I much prefer during the warmer season. The shades in the quad are quite dark but blend well with the white shade to create a colour to match your skin-tone. It’s a little bit stiff to work with at first, so it will need to be warmed but once applied, it does a great job of holding up for the day. I’m sure that I will be continuing to use it throughout August, so will return with any additional thoughts after more usage.
Unica 100% Natural Anti-Aging Face Cream with Prebiotics – This might not look like much from the photo but it goes a long way. The prebiotics contained within the cream encourage the growth of probiotics (the good bacteria), they also play an essential role in keeping the skin looking young. I’ve been applying this product after removing my make-up at night and my skin appears so smooth and healthy. I would take this on holiday with me too, as it makes the skin less hospitable for skin conditions and breakouts, and no one wants evidence of those in their photo album!
Headmasters Salon Experts Mirror Shine Spray – Whenever I’m at the hair salon, they spritz my finished style with “shine spray”, so when I found this product, I thought I’d give it a try. I have very thick hair, which can sometimes become frizzy, so I like products that are going to help to smooth and tame the mane. The spray is quite powerful, so you need to be careful not to spray too much, definitely less than a generic hairspray, as it will then make your hair appear greasy. I find that 1-2 spritz over a finished style helps to keep the hair in place and looking lovely and shiny for the day.
Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Toner – This product has been a welcome addition to my skincare routine and it’s multi-purpose – You can use it in the morning to help you to wake up, as it’s really super refreshing, or as part of your night-time routine to help to remove any stubborn make-up. A very gentle product that smells AMAZING!
Have you ever tried any of these products? What has been your star product of the month?
My makeup routine changes so much in the summer!

I love that our make-up can change with the seasons, just as I’m getting bored of one look, it’s time to move on to the next! I’m already thinking of all of the Autumnal colours that will be re-introduced in a few months time… 😉
