Beauty | Drugstore Make-Up Haul

Header

Over the weekend I had a ‘new year’ replenish of make-up products, which included stocking up on some regulars, as well as picking up a few new items to try out over the coming months.

I bought everything from Superdrug, which has quickly become one of my favourite stores for high-street beauty products because it has a diverse range of brands (some that are exclusive to them) and they always seem to have plenty of offers.

Here is a rundown of everything that ended up in my shopping basket:

2x Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation (Light Porcelain) Buy 1 and get 2nd 1/2 price

This has been my go-to foundation for a while, it is really easy to apply (ideally with a stippling brush) and a little product goes a long way. It has excellent coverage, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and, due to the smooth formulation, it makes my skin appear flawless.

Maybelline Eyebrow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara (Medium Brown) & Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow (65 Pink Gold) Buy 1 and get 2nd 1/2 price

The Maybelline Eyebrow Drama has become a staple in my make-up bag because it is a really quick and easy way to do my eyebrows. The round tipped wand is the perfect shape to sweep over the brows, it makes them look fuller and the gel keeps them in place throughout the day.

I have tried quite a few of the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow pots and I have always been impressed with the product – with everything from application to colour payoff and staying power – so I wanted to try a different shade this time around. ‘Pink Gold’ is a light metallic rosy pink with a duo chrome flash of gold, I think that it would be a perfect base for working with rose gold shades.

Rimmel London Wonder’Full Wake Me Up Mascara (Black) & Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick (#58 Drop Of Sherry) 2 for £10

I reviewed the Rimmel London Wonder’Full Wake Me Up Mascara last year, so I was very happy to add this back into my beauty routine again.

I’m a bit of a lipstick addict, I love trying different brands, formulas and shades. I have a few Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks but this was a new shade for me, it looks like a good all-rounder. It is a medium neutral colour, which applies less ‘pink’ than it appears. I think that it will work for all seasons and occasions. Very pretty!

Makeup Revolution Sculpt & Contour Kit (C01 Ultra Fair)

I haven’t tried contouring yet, I usually just apply blusher on my cheeks but recently I have been adding a touch of highlighter on top of the cheekbones and I have really liked the glowing quality that it adds to my overall look.

So when I saw the Makeup Revolution Sculpt & Contour Kit I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to play around with contouring (for beginners) without spending too much (in case it doesn’t work out). I will let you know how it goes!

Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eye Liner (Black)

I have tried other eye liners, which have proven to be too dry or difficult to apply, so I find that I keep coming back to Collection’s Fast Stroke Liquid Eye Liner. It is a pigmented black that goes on thick and steady. This is my holy grail eye liner!

What was the last make-up product that you added to your cosmetics bag?

We have the same Colour Tattoo lol! For some reason in different parts of the world they have different names, mine is called Inked In Pink but it is the same as Pink Gold. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! xx

Thank you! I’m wearing this one today and I’m already *loving* it. It’s not as ‘pink’ as some of my other lipsticks, it’s more sophisticated and neutral but it still brightens up my overall look. 🙂
