This time 2 months ago I was midway through my 10th family vacation in Orlando, Florida – the happiest place on Earth. It’s fair to say that as the sky in Britain has turned 50 shades of grey and there has been enough rain to fill an ocean, I’ve experienced a spell of the vacation blues.
I absolutely love and treasure every second that I can spend with my family in our number one destination, creating memories that will last a lifetime… but what happens when you return to reality and touch down in the United Kingdom?
Well… you start planning, scheming and researching towards your next magical getaway!
Due to my ever-expanding Disney obsession, I was asked if I would like to review The Independent Guide To Walt Disney World 2016 and since today is Mickey Mouse’s 87th Birthday, it seemed like the perfect time to share this post with you.
The Independent Guide To Walt Disney World 2016* includes over 30 chapters, covering everything from scheduling your holiday, reviews of hotels/resorts and detailed breakdowns of the theme parks. Thankfully, the book is structured in a clear and practical manner, making it easy to navigate through any sections of interest and absorb all of the information without becoming too overwhelmed. Phew!
I have referred to travel guides whilst in the ‘vacation planning’ stage in the past but one of the unique features of the Independent Guidebooks series is that they are updated throughout the year and printed on demand, so when you purchase the book you will have the latest published version. For this reason alone, I would highly recommend the Independent Guidebooks because unlike larger publishing houses that write their travel guides up to 18 months in advance, The Independent Guide To Walt Disney World 2016 contains all of the latest developments – and since Disney is expanding and evolving daily, this is truly impressive. I take my Mickey Mouse ears hat off to the researchers and writers!
Being a Walt Disney World regular myself, I thought that I knew everything that I needed to know but a further advantage of this particular guidebook is that it’s written by ex-Disney Cast Members, who are equipped with exclusive ‘insider’ knowledge to help to save you time and $$$ (double win).
The Independent Guide To Walt Disney World is part of a series of travel guides, which includes Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Resort, Orlando, Universal Orlando and Paris and they are all available in both digital and print versions – personally, my preference is to own a print copy so that I can personalise it by adding my own sticky notes and bookmarking pages the old school way!

I’m pleased that you were able to spend childhood vacations in Disney World too, they really make for the best memories and I’ll never forget my first ever trip in 1997. I thought that the guide was brilliant because I trusted all of the information in there, it would be quite useful for a first-timer too.

I don’t like to repeat my vacation destinations, so of course I’ve only been to Disney once, and I did it hard, so I feel like I did what needed to be done. But I can see where I might go back one day…
