Motivational Monday | Life Lessons From Peter Pan

Peter Pan, written by J.M. Barrie, has always been one of my all-time favourite stories. In the years following its publication, the tale was adapted for the big screen on more than one occasion, but perhaps most notably by Walt Disney in 1953. Children were drawn into the make believe land by stunning scenery, mesmerising mermaids and fantastical fairies, swashbuckling sword fights and breath-taking flying sequences, however as the children grew older and revisited the classic story, it became apparent that there are countless lessons to be learned from Peter’s adventures.

Here are some particularly wonderful quotes to keep you motivated as you take the voyage into a brand new week:

Second star to the right and straight on till morning.

Never give up; sometimes your dreams might feel far out of reach but if you don’t let that stop you, then the result will be worth it.

All you need is faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust.

Having faith in yourself, trust in your dream and the dream itself will get you to where you want to be in life. You’re capable of achieving anything that your heart desires!

You will know when you’re ready; you will feel it from within. Always remember to do whatever makes you happy and you will know that you’re on the right track.

Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough. You will have everything in life…

It doesn’t matter how long it takes to achieve your dreams, just never stop dreaming. Positive thinking and determination are key ingredients!

To die would be an awfully big adventure.

Remember that life is an adventure and death is part of the unknown; so think of it as part of the journey, rather than something to fear.

Peter Pan taught us that our dreams and affirmations are the very tools that we need to soar and take flight, meaning that even the impossible becomes possible. As a child we dream of being anything we want to be, the possibilities are endless because our belief has not been tainted by the world around us. Peter Pan isn’t telling us that he didn’t want to grow older in age but that we shouldn’t allow logic to crush your dreams. Always stay faithful.
