Beauty | Rimmel Wonder’full Wake Me Up Mascara Review

You will know by now that I’m a fan of Rimmel cosmetics for offering a great range of quality products at affordable high street prices, so when the brand announced a new addition to its Wonder’full line, I could not wait to try it out!

Another bonus being that most retailers seem to be offering this product as part of an introductory offer, so I managed to pick it up for £5.99, rather than the RRP of £7.99 – who could resist?!!

The Wonder’full Wake Me Up Mascara promises a conditioning and hydrating formula, which lengthens and lifts lashes whilst providing a cooling sensation, as a result of the special ingredient: cucumber extract.

I’m a bit fussy when it comes to mascara applicators because some can make it really difficult, meaning that you don’t cover every lash and end up with annoying black smudges on your lid, making you look like you’re auditioning to be the new member of Kiss. I was very pleased to find that the Wake Me Up precision brush is perfectly shaped to fit the lash line, I managed to cover them all in just one sweep!

The mascara noticeably adds volume and a lift but also amazing length! The product does manage to wake you up in the morning, as the lashes remain soft and flexible, rather than stiff or clumpy, eliminating the extra weight.

Now for the best part: the scent. Not many mascaras have a smell and I wouldn’t have thought that they would need one either, until now. This product smells fantastic, it has a lovely fresh cucumber scent, which helps to make your eyes feel awake. I don’t know whether it’s a placebo effect but I also don’t care as my nostrils are going to be thanking me for introducing this scent in the opening hours of my morning.

Overall I thought that the Wonder’full Wake Me Up Mascara was one of the better high street mascaras that I have tried of recent times. As a girl in glasses I can experience sensitivity with my eyes, this product would be a go-to on those occasions, as well as when travelling because when I’m on holiday I want a product that is quick, easy and light – the refreshing sensation is a bonus to provide a morning wake up boost, helping me to feel revitalised for the day ahead!
