Fashion | amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala @ #Cannes2015 (Day 9)

Day 9 of the Cannes Film Festival marked the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala, this spectacular event has raised more than $140 million for amfAR’s life-saving research programs and has helped to keep the fight against AIDS in the global media spotlight. The 2015 event brought out some of the biggest names in the most beautiful dresses, which made it difficult to choose just a few to review, nevertheless these are the ones that made the cut…

Chanel Iman

This was a stunning moment; designer Zuhair Murad should take a bow. Chanel opted for this nude tulle gown with white flower appliqué from from his Spring 2015 collection.

The stylish creation had a cinched-in waistline, eye-catching billowing skirt (for the dramz) and white flowers, which delicately cascaded down the length of the skirt.

Chanel added to her showstopping ensemble with her hair pulled back in a sleek up-do and highlighted her stunning features with a bit of contour!

Kendall Jenner

Kendall returned in another 2-piece to flaunt her figure, the look was a much softer than yesterdays but still made a big impact!

The eggplant coloured Calvin Klein ensemble boasted a silk bandeau tie-top and a voluminous, high-waisted skirt for those all-important twirls! I was pleased that she kept the accessories simple with some delicate Chopard diamonds and more natural-looking make-up.

Karlie Kloss

The models came out in force for the evening but Karlie was one of the standouts, turning up in this sleek Tom Ford halter-neck column dress. It’s also completely bejewelled, which reminds me of Emily Blunt’s gown on day 7!

She styled the outfit with bangles, nude T-strap sandals and a smouldering make-up look, simply beautiful!

Toni Garrn

Another “wow” moment arrived when Toni showed up in this summery watercolour Elie Saab gown! I love this dress, it’s just so unusual with its bold colours and black and white trim.

Her slicked back hair only added to the under-the-sea theme whilst also showcasing the starfish-like Chopard diamond earrings! Everything about this look is working!

Aishwarya Rai

AishwaryaRai

Aishwarya’s fashion choices are always raved about in the best dressed lists but they never feature very highly in mine. This look was a marginal improvement, mainly because of the beautiful lilac colour and detailed floral embellishment.

I couldn’t help but think that the Elie Saab gown was a little “dated prom” though, I was also disappointed with her hair, as she has kept it in the same style throughout her time at Cannes.

Diane Kruger

Arguably Aishwarya’s dress is a sensation compared to Diane’s Chanel frock complete with, what appears to be, embellished lederhosen, sheer ballooned sleeves and a heap of feathers!

The dress is fun but I don’t think that anyone could pull off this look, even Diane. Perhaps if the skirt sat a bit lower it would be more flattering, who wants big fluffy hips?

Eva Longoria

EvaLongoria

It’s hard to not make Eva look fabulous but this dress comes close. She still looks as demure as ever but this soft mint Georges Hobeika Couture gown isn’t a style that I would expect her to wear and I’m not sure that she’s really selling the ethereal vibe.

In my opinion, it actually makes her look a little bit frumpy, though I don’t deny that the dress is beautiful, I think it would have been better suited to Diane.

Despite Eva’s olive skin tone, the colour seems to wash her out or maybe that’s the nude lip…
