Fashion | #Cannes2015 In Review (Day 5)

Dresses, so many dresses. At this stage, you may be wondering, will the Cannes Film Festival keep delivering memorable fashion moments on the red carpet? I’m happy to report that the answer is “yes” for Day 5, as the stars turned out in a wonderful assortment of designs!

Eva Longoria

EvaLongoria

Many of our stars on the red carpet have opted for a Versace gown but unlike some of the daring previous entries, Eva brought elegance and sophistication to Cannes in this one-shoulder dress, complete with a ruffled fishtail and subtle but glitzy embellishment.

I love the deep sapphire blue shade, which really complimented her skin tone. As a L’Oreal Paris spokeswoman she also wore a striking hair and beauty look. She certainly was the belle of this ball!

Cate Blanchett

I’m not typically a fan of dresses with a fuller skirt, as is evident here, it drowns Cate’s petite shape. However, there’s something quite hypnotic about this Giles gown.

The print is very interesting, it appears to be a combination of metallics, holograms and tie-dye, almost galactic! It also has some elaborate ruching on the back, whilst I’m not crazy about the structure, you certainly have to stop and look.

Salma Hayek

On the other hand, Salma showed off her curvaceous figure in this perfectly fitted Gucci gown. Undoubtedly, the colour is my favourite part of the dress, the jewel-hued purple shade is electric!

To complete the look, she accessorised with a silver knot necklace and matching clutch back, bouncy natural-looking curls and a hot pink lipstick!

Erin O’Connor

Erin wore this striking Ralph & Russo design complete with a train and t-bow but do you think that there’s space for this much drama on the red carpet?

I’m thankful that with so much going on with the gown, that she opted for a bare appearance with her face and restrained from wearing any type of necklace, though I’m still not completely sold.

Poppy Delevingne

Poppy

This is one of my favourite dresses from the entire coverage of the event so far!

The emerald green Burberry gown had mirrors interspersed throughout the boho chic print, which featured an arrangement of stars, so mystical! She made the look even better by wearing a diamond Chopard statement necklace and fixing her hair in an elaborate braided style.

Sienna Miller

Star-embellished gowns might just be my new fashion favourite, as Sienna joined Poppy, stepping on to the red carpet in this black Sonia Rykiel gown with velvet stars.

The gown also had a Victorian feel with its detailed collar and draped cape, completing the look with a braided hairstyle and lipstick that resembles Rimmel’s 107 Wine, which is one of my all-time favourite shades!
