Blue skies, sunshine, birds chirping, freshly cut grass and flowers blooming; welcome to Spring. Florals are a perennial favourite for the season, I have been exploring the trend and have created two looks with a semi-retro twist, since I’m prone of golden age thinking.
Florals can be difficult and you might find yourself faced with a series of dilemmas: What kind of flowers are on trend? What size should they be? How do you accessorise a bolder print? I think that you should enjoy it, embrace the florals, they’re meant to be fun!
Chic
Forever Floral Prom Dress, £72 | H&M Denim Jacket, £25 | Christian Louboutin Pink Stiletto Pumps, £425 | Chain Strap Purse, £16 | J Crew Sparkle Bracelet, £43 | Chanel Fake Pearl Earrings, £1,305
This dress is the epitome of elegance with a high round neck, fixed waist and full pleated skirt, showcasing a beautiful array of pastel flowers. The outfit can be made casual by the addition of a denim jacket, which is another wardrobe must-have! The accessories help to pick out the pink and lilac tones in the dress to make it even more eye-catching.
Beach
Floral Denim Dress, £16 | Steve Madden Pumps, £75 | ALDO Purse, £24 | Stone Bangle Set, £5.99 | Rhinestone Spring Time Earrings, £2.05 | Floppy Hat, £20
This dress is fun, playful and the A-line silhouette also helps to give a vintage feel. The plainer denim top helps to balance the bold and bright print of the skirt, whilst also complimenting the colours. The accessories also showcase some of the shades in the floral print, mostly opting for milder mint tones. The stylishly woven floppy hat helps to complete the look, so that it’s suitable for the beach, whilst also being boho chic!
How could I choose between chic and beach? I used to wear Betsey Johnson floral skirts and leggings. It is always in style to me. Your outfits are lovely. Great post, Adele!

I love that second dress, it is so cute and the second I saw it I instantly thought of the ways that I could work into my wardrobe. I think I am heading towards embracing florals a bit more this year!

It is a cute dress and so reasonably priced too! Florals are in fashion year in, year out, so I think that it’s definitely worth the investment!
